Chasing 100K-Yen Grails with Card Box's '5000-Yen Pokemon Card Oripa'
Card Box Nipponbashi offers a 5,000-yen original Pokemon card mystery pack where collectors test their luck for ultra-rare cards like the Gardevoir & Sylveon GX.
What is this trend?
This video showcases the unboxing of a 5,000-yen original Pokemon trading card pack, known as an Oripa, purchased from Card Box Nipponbashi. The limited-run lottery pack contains select high-rarity cards including sought-after Mega EX and Tag Team GX cards, offering buyers a chance to win items far exceeding the buy-in price.
Why the hype?
Oripa unboxings generate huge excitement because they offer the thrill of pulling out-of-print, high-value collector cards that are otherwise impossible to find in regular retail packs. TCG collectors love the suspense of comparing the 5,000-yen investment against the secondary market value of whatever card is revealed inside.
Where is it spreading right now?
Japanese TCG unboxing content continues to captivate global Pokemon fans, with this short racking up tens of thousands of views among avid card hunters. International collectors frequently seek out Japanese card shop mystery packs through proxy buying services to experience the thrill themselves.
